November 9th 2011, Montreal, Quebec – Playground Poker Club continues to live up to their ‘for players, by players’ motto with the recent announcement of the launch of the ‘Playground Players Club,’ an elite group of celebrities from the poker and sports worlds who have been dominant in their fields, including hockey legend Guy Carbonneau and many more.
‘Guy Carbonneau is the last player to take the Montreal to the Promised Land by captaining them to a championship in 1993,’ said Playground COO David Montour. ‘He’s a born leader and a natural choice to be the first hockey player named to the Playground Players Club.’
Playground hosted the inaugural Faceoff event in September 2011 and the it was a big hit, combining celebrities from the poker and hockey worlds for a charity tournament with appearances from hockey legends like Guy Lafleur, Mike Bossy and Guy Carbonneau and current players like Carey Price, and PK Subban along with poker pros Antonio Esfandiari, Trishelle Cannatella, and many more.
The upcoming ‘Legends Banquet’ event on December 4th, 2011 at Playground Poker Club will do more of the same all while raising money for charity once again with hockey legends and poker pros descending upon Playground to hit the felt for to benefit those in need.
