After 13 events, 8 WPT satellites, 1 High Roller satellite, about a dozen single-table sit n’ go satellites and countless hands of cash game action on the side, the 2013 edition of the Playground Poker Fall Classic has come to a close.
Overall, this year’s Fall Classic awarded over $4.3 Million in prize money including an impressive $517,049 to the WPT Montreal Champion Derrick Rosenbarger. Over the whole of the Fall Classic events, almost 450 players cashed in at least one event!
The player with the highest number of events in which he showed a profit was Vince Dwyer, who (not coincidentally) was the winner of the MVP Belt as the overall top performer in the Fall Classic. Vince cashed in 4 events including impressive 2nd and 9th place finishes in Events 12 and 13 to take home the belt.
Many Playground regulars had a successful Fall Classic, but four players’ results stand out: Michael Korovine, Evgeni Ozadovski, Mark Fitzpatrick, and Alain Jobin all performed at a very high level from the beginning of the Fall Classic until the end, and took home healthy prizes as a reward.
There were also two players from out of town whose winning ways deserve to be singled out for recognition. Ricky Tang and Andrew Graham have both had two festivals in a row of extremely impressive results, as they have become fixtures atop the leaderboards of events they enter at Playground Poker Club.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2013 Playground Poker Fall Classic and made it a great festival that has quickly become a fixture on the international poker calendar. We’ll see everyone back at Playground Poker Club very soon!
