The countdown to WPT Montreal has started! At Playground Poker Club, all departments are getting ready to welcome poker players from near and far to the WPT Montreal, featuring 7 events with over $8,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools.
Festival after festival, we have the immense pleasure of hearing very positive comments about our staff, whether it’s face-to-face or through social media. Indeed, we take a lot of pride in having a devoted workforce. We share a common passion for poker, and hope it reflects in our work.
It is with that in mind that we decided to present to you 6 groups of people that you will inevitably come in contact with during the WPT Montreal. Each week until the start of the festival, a different department will take centre stage and speak to you through this series of articles.
Week 1 – Cash Game Management
Our cash games are running 24/7 and offer a wide range of limits to suit any comfort level. At peak hours, it is not rare to see 25 tables running simultaneously, and during festivals, that number reaches 50 – not an easy fleet to steer!
Our management staff ensures that all cash game players enjoy a smooth operation, fair treatment, and a top-of-the-line gaming experience.
Their tasks:
- Directing players to their desired game upon their arrival.
- Making sure that tables of the same limit are balanced, meaning they are equally populated.
- Keeping an eye on the wait lists to open tables as soon as there are enough players, keeping wait time at its minimum.
- Applying the rule book properly and fairly when being called over to a table for a ruling.
- Managing the dealer rotations in a timely and efficient manner.
Of course, they do much more, but these are their main duties. Please, meet some of the team members:

Carl is known to play quite a bit of poker himself, as the quote may have clued you in. The good people presented here are only a fraction of the whole team, but all of them share the same sentiment for customer service.
At the WPT Montreal, even on the 11th hour of their 11th consecutive shift, our cash game management team will bend over backwards to make sure that every customer is happy, and they will do it with a smile.
