Montreal’s (and Laval’s) own Chanracy Khun has progressed to Day 6 of the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas! There are just 109 players left – just 1.4% of the total field – and with 4,830,000 chips, Chanracy starts the day in 33rd place on the leaderboard. Being in the last 109 players in the Main Event is impressive – but this is ground Chanracy has traveled before. His second-biggest score in poker came in 2014 when he exited in 69th place in this event for $103,025 – a feat he’s no doubt hoping to improve upon this year.
Chanracy has played every big event here at Playground Poker Club since the first Playground Poker Classic in 2011, in which he placed 4th ($20,000), but his true breakthrough in the poker world came in Barcelona in the Spring of 2013, when he won a WPT Main Tour title for €181,400. He also booked a 2nd place finish in the Montreal Poker Expo Main Event for $73,140 and has cash results from events all over the world in the past few years.
WSOP Main Event action resumes at 2:00pm EDT. You can follow the tournament progress via WSOP.com, PokerNews, or by tuning in to PokerGo this afternoon or TSN2 tonight.
