Larry and his whiskey
Our Director of Charitable Initiatives, Larry Robinson, was on site this week to autograph bottles of his limited-edition whisky.
Created through a partnership between the Alumni Association and J.P. Wiser, this premium, collectible Canadian whisky was created with Larry’s playing style and numerous notable achievements in mind. Big and smooth, true to the Big Bird’s legacy as a dominant defenceman for the Montreal Canadiens, and aged in six barrels, one for each of the Stanley Cup rings Larry won with le tricolore, this whisky is something to behold.
Unlike the first release, all future lineups will be made available nationally – so that you can collect the Series! Proceeds received by the Alumni are invested back into local hockey initiatives across the country while supporting the retired player community.
The Bad Beat Jackpot race
There will be important changes to the Bad Beat Jackpot on Monday, July 15, making it easier than ever to win a six-figure score!
The Primary Bad Beat Jackpot seed, which was at $285,271 at the time of publication, will be carried forward under the new unified structure. The qualifying hand will be dropped to aces full of kings (AAAKK), using the same room share rules. After the Bad Beat Jackpot gets hit, it will be reseeded at $25,000 with a new payout structure.
After the reseed, the payout will be kept at the table, with greater percentages for these people. The loser of the hand will take 50% of the Jackpot, the winner of the hand will get 25% and the other 25% will be split evenly between the remaining players at that table.
