The World Cup of Cards is in full swing, and even with all of the action in the tournaments, cash games are not being left behind at all – not only is the cash game action fierce and sustained, but tonight, another Bad Beat Jackpot was hit – this time the Secondary BBJ for Hold’em.
The action went down in a huge pot on table 10, which tonight is a $2/$5 NL Hold’em table. There was a dead button as a player had just been called for his table change, and the sb and bb were on seats 8 and 9, respectively.
Preflop, there two limps and then Gilbert Y raised to $25 from the bb. Both players who had limped in made the call, and it was 3 way to the flop.
Flop:
Gilbert and the player in Seat 5 both checked and Ibrahim H led out with a bet of $30. Gilbert made the call and the other player folded. Play was heads up to the turn.
Turn:
Gilbert again chose to check, and this time Ibrahim led out for $75 – only to face a check-raise from Gilbert to $175. Ibrahim made the call.
River:
This time Gilbert opened the betting, putting out $225. Ibrahim thought for a few seconds – and then shoved the rest of his large stack, $550 or more – Gilbert snap called! Time for the showdown.
Ibrahim:
Gilbert:
Ibrahim has opened his Quads confident than he had the winner – but was even happier when he noticed that he has lost – meaning he wins the Jackpot!
The secondary jackpot is fixed at $25,000, with 50% going to the loser of the hand (Ibrahim), 25% (and the pot) to the winner of the hand (Gilbert), and 25% shared between the remaining players at the table. Congratulations to all!
