As of Wednesday, September 1, 2021, ′Proof of Vaccination′ (′Vaccine Passport′) will be required for all guests entering the Playground Complex, including The Rail Coal Fire Bistro.
This decision was made by the Public Safety Commission of Kahnawake and the MCK and applies to all non-essential businesses within the community of Kahnawake. And we, as a business, support and respect their decision.
- Guests will be required to show their VaxiCode (QR Code) on their smartphone prior to entering the premises.
- Guests who do not have the VaxiCode (QR Code) on their smartphone must show a PDF version on their phone or a printed copy of their code.
Guests can use the QR code received by email or text after their most recent dose of vaccine in paper version. If they haven’t received their QR code, they can download it from the self-service portal on Quebec’s website (Quebec.ca) and print the document. If they do not have access to the Internet and a printer, they can call 1-877-644-4545 and ask for proof of vaccination in paper version to be mailed to them. - In addition to proof of double-vaccination, guests will need to show a piece of photo (government) ID.
- Guests who come from outside jurisdictions that may not have access to the ‘passport’ equivalent that Quebec does will need to show proof of double-vaccination based on what has been provided from their respective jurisdictions.
We hope that this new measure will lead to an increase in our overall capacity, reduce social distancing, allow for amendments to mask regulations and an increase in the amount of poker tables we can operate. However, this will not happen overnight.
We know some of our members will not be affected by this new measure, and some will, many will be upset, while others will welcome the news with a sigh of relief. But we ask that you remember and understand that Playground is part of a community and their leaders have made a decision and we will continue to support their efforts and their decisions. That is, what a community is all about.
