Playground, in collaboration with the Women’s Poker Association, wishes to support that trend by setting up a poker series exclusively for women: the Playground Women’s Series! The Women’s Poker Association, launched in 2018, received a lot of love from the community and expanded very quickly. In 2019, several projects were added to their operations, including the addition of the WPA Player of the Year program and partnerships with many venues. The Playground Women’s Series is the first project that stems from our own partnership with the WPA. Last week, we announced the return of the WPT Montreal from October 20 to November 4 and a $3,000,000 guaranteed Main Event. After finalizing the last details of the schedule with the World Poker Tour, we can now officially release the dates, formats and guarantees of all seven events that will make up the WPT Montreal 2019! The festival will kick off with the ever-popular WPT500. This year, the $500 + $50 event presents a $1,066,000 guarantee. The odd number represents one million in cash and twenty $3,300 seats for the Main Event, which will be awarded to the top 20 finishers on top of their prize money. The WSOP-C took over Playground from August 22 to September 2 in its second annual edition and was another resounding success! Thousands of players from across the continent descended on Playground to take part in the seven-event series that awarded over $4,000,000 in prize money. As players have come to expect, major events at Playground seem to have a way of bringing out Bad Beat Jackpots. And this edition of the WSOP-C has lived up to that reputation by delivering the Bad Beat Jackpot! The fateful hand took place this morning on a 1/2 table. The action started with some folds from early position before three players limped in. But the limping was put to an end by Pierre-Luc Cote who bumped it up to $12 from the button. After much anticipation, the WSOP-C Playground has finally arrived! The action got underway online this past weekend with starting flights for both the Colossus and the Main Event on partypoker. The $1,000 + $100 Main Event guarantees a prize pool of $2,000,000 and is sure to be a tremendously popular event. It started with an online flight that combined Day 1 & 2 which brought out 194 entries and allowed 29 players to secure a place in the money while advancing stacks to Day 3. The live action in the Main Event starts Tuesday, August 27 at 12:00pm with Day 1A, the first of three live starting flights. The World Series of Poker International Circuit and Playground’s Super Sundays are both tremendously popular, and Playground wants to make sure that all players can enjoy them to their fullest. In order to make sure that all players have the best possible experience, the Super Sunday promotions scheduled for August 25 and September 1 will be rescheduled to accommodate the huge field of tournament players during the WSOP-C event. The Hot Seat drawings and High Hand payouts slated for the Super Sunday of August 25 will be moved to Saturday, August 24, to create a Super Saturday.
