It’s been ten days since Playground Rewards was launched. Since then, we have continued to keep our eyes and ears open, with the aim of gathering massive amounts of comments and suggestions from players. Some of you, who prefer not to eat at the tables, were delighted to be able to accumulate points for Playground gear, free play or cash. However, some of you prefer to eat! Regardless of your preferences though, everyone will be happy to see an impressive drop in pricing on the dishes you love! Here are a few examples: For a complete list of new prices, simply ask your waitress to bring you a menu. In the meantime, you can always check it online. Go through […]
A legend gets his own signature whiskey
Larry and his whiskey Our Director of Charitable Initiatives, Larry Robinson, was on site this week to autograph bottles of his limited-edition whisky. Created through a partnership between the Alumni Association and J.P. Wiser, this premium, collectible Canadian whisky was created with Larry’s playing style and numerous notable achievements in mind. Big and smooth, true to the Big Bird’s legacy as a dominant defenceman for the Montreal Canadiens, and aged in six barrels, one for each of the Stanley Cup rings Larry won with le tricolore, this whisky is something to behold. Unlike the first release, all future lineups will be made available nationally – so that you can collect the Series! Proceeds received by the Alumni are invested back into local hockey initiatives across the country while supporting the retired player community. The Bad Beat Jackpot race There will be important changes to the Bad Beat Jackpot on […]

A Jackpot for Canada
The Secondary Bad Beat Jackpot hit today at 4:12PM on a $1/$2 table. What a great way to celebrate Canada Day! The table was full at the time of the hit, with the button on seat 8. The pot was raised by Khosrow Moossavi in seat 5, who made it $10 to go, a standard $1/$2 5x raise. The cut-off and the big blind both made the call and the three players went to the flop. Flop: The action was checked to the aggressor, who continued with a $15 bet. Scott Browning, sitting in seat 7, called in position, and seat 1 went all-in for a single dollar more, which did not make anyone fold. Turn: Moossavi kept pressing: a $45 dollar bet was placed, and matched. River: Moossavi tanked for a bit and went all-in. The call was as quick as any. Moosavi: Browning: The whole table stood in […]
Jackpots everywhere
Cashing big! Earlier this week, two poker players passed by to pick up their Primary Bad Beat Jackpot winnings. We remember that on June 10, in a rare turn of events, Mario Laurin lost a hand to Martin Archambault, holding quad queens! As the showdown revealed, the very last community card that was tabled by the dealer completed 4 of a kind for Mario and a royal flush for Martin, the highest possible hand in poker! Both players, after a few days that must have been spent making spending and saving plans, came by the club to claim their checks. Mario picked up $259,848, while Martin cashed in $129,923. Not bad for a single poker hand! 88 Fortunes spits out a 5-figure Jackpot On Wednesday night, a special guest was casually spinning some reels in the EGD section. At 6PM, he was playing 88 Fortunes, a fun game […]
A promo that will make heads turn
The Toronto Raptors are the NBA champions! The Toronto Raptors made history on Thursday night by bringing the NBA championship north of the 49th parallel for the first time! By dethroning a dynastic Golden State Warriors team to win the NBA finals in six games, the Raptors showed their determination and talent in unprecedented fashion. The Raptors trailed in each series on their way to the finals but overcame deficits against the Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers and the Milwaukee Bucks. The Raptors then won three road games against the Warriors en route to the series victory. Both feats – three series comebacks and three road victories against the reigning champs – are unprecedented in NBA history. So it is only fitting that the Raptors were able to capture the championship in the franchise’s first and only trip to the finals since joining the league as an expansion team in […]
A brand New Room
One expansion leads to another! Playground has added a room to the Electronic Gaming section. It is located at the far left of the EGD floor, just passed the cashier, and provides the private ambiance that many players look for when engaging in gaming activities. The room is filled with some of the most sought-after games in the world, including China Shores Boosted Wins and Spins. This is one of many additions to our mix. The one copy that we have and worked so hard to acquire is now available for your entertainment. The Panda awaits! As part of the restructuring, we also changed a few machines on the main floor. Some copies of the less popular titles gave way to more copies of the games that are always busy. Fù Guì Róng Huá is one of the EGDs that we expanded with, having proved to be so popular among […]

Sunday at The Rail… Go sports!
Game 2 at The Rail Playground wishes to extend an invitation to all basketball fans. The Rail, serving delicious food in the whole Playground complex and delivering to hungry people in the area, is the perfect place to come together at the bar and stand behind the Toronto Raptors, our Canadian NBA team! Game 1 was an unbelievable show. The Raptors, first Canadian team to ever make the NBA finals, took a 10-point lead in the first half and held on tight in the second, winning by 9. We cannot wait to watch Game 2 on the big screen this Sunday night… where will you be? 8 hits for Berthiaume One of our biggest Jackpots of the week happened on a Quick Hit machine, an absolute player favourite. Last Tuesday, Marc-Antoine Berthiaume was playing $7.50 a spin and watching symbols align, waiting for something big to happen. At […]
Lychees and dragons and spins, oh my!
Even though Montreal Cocktail Week is almost over, you can cash in on some great cocktail and game pairings whenever you want in our EGD section! This week’s pairing features a delectably sweet blend of Asian flavours and Western mixology combined with an exciting three-reel game: the lychee martini and Dragon Wheel. Playground’s lychee martini offers a new take on a traditional drink by bringing together vodka, cranberry juice and lychee liqueur. Blended together, this drink’s ingredients offer a balance between the sweetness of the lychee liqueur and the tart punch of the cranberry juice before the vodka, a wedge of lime and a lychee take it to the next level. The lychee martini is best enjoyed while taking a spin on Dragon Wheel, an exciting game where gold dragons can lead players down the road to bonus spins and big wins. This three-reel, five-line game features the amazing Dragon […]
MILLIONS North America: a resounding success
Another great event has come and gone at Playground. The partypoker LIVE MILLIONS North America left in its wake a trail of memories that many will cherish for the rest of their lives. The festival, although nicely highlighted by the presence of many international pros, was taken over by local players, who took down 7 of the 11 titles, including the Main Event, to reinforce Quebec’s reputation of breeding strong poker players. A total of $8,517,161 was paid out through 11 events. All tournaments met the guarantee and offered some amazing prizes. A resounding success! The $10,000 + $300 Main Event was strongly contested. The final 8 counted three locals, but after Ruben Perceval’s elimination in 8th place, only two were left for Day 5: Danick Landriault and François Billard. Alongside them were Rabichow, Fontan, Petteri, and Kolonias, all very strong players. François Billard was the last man standing, and […]
