The Playground Poker Legends Tournament came to a close last night and the results are in! The day, which began with the Legends Banquet and gave players access to some biggest names in hockey; big names such as Jean Beliveau, Yvon Cournoyer and Henri Richard and many others. As the tournament kicked off at 2:30 following the 2 hour banquet, players were given the opportunity to score impressive $300 bounties for knocking out one of the legends playing in the field. Poker pros in the field included Trishelle Cannatella, Valerie Ross and Jennifer Leigh ‘-also worth the same tidy sum. In the end, the final table was composed of local players long after all bounties had been had. At 17 player remaining they all put 100$ to give 17th to 14th 400$ and $50 more for 13th and 12th. 2011 Playground Poker Legends Banquet
Playground Poker has done it again and brought hockey legends to the tables! The Legends Event began with a banquet hosted in their very own restaurant ‘-The Rail ‘-Coal Fire Bistro. Big names such as Jean Beliveau, Yvon Cournoyer and Henri Richard. Also in attendance at the banquet were hockey greats Ralph Backstrom, Donnie Marshall, Junior Langlois, Ab McDonald, Bobby Rousseau, Phil Goyette,Stéphane Richer, Chris Nilan, Sergio Momesso, Karl Dykhuis and Enrico Ciccone. The banquet was quickly followed by the $300 bounty tournament where players were offered a generous $300 for knocking out one of the hockey legends at the table. The first ever High Heels Poker Tour to take place in Canada got off to a great start at Playground Poker yesterday. 49 women participated, with some coming in from the USA and Ontario to take part. Pros included the likes of Trishelle Cannatella, Valerie Ross and Jennifer Leigh. In the end, this event was mostly about having fun playing the game we all know and love. To add to the excitement, PokerStars generously provided a Carribean Adventure package was also given away with a draw. The coveted package is certain to provide excellent relief as our Canadian winters bear down on us. In the end, two women remained: Josee Tremblay and Anne-marie Angelil. Charity Emerges as Victor of the Talent Packed NLH Face-Off Event

Playground Poker Club hosted its inaugural No Limit Hold’em NLH Faceoff Tournament which accomplished that and drew huge crowds and raised a lot of money for charity. The total prize pool for the tournament was $119,600 with a top prize of $25000 for the winner Jason Smith. The top 30 players shared in the prize money. In addition to this, $5000 will be reserved for a winner-take-all freeroll tournament which will be played among the players of the winning Faceoff Draft team. Playground Poker Club in Montreal hosted another of its popular Deepstack poker tournaments this past Saturday, once again selling out, and taking alternates well beyond its original 150 player field cap. When the last seat was filled, 184 entries made for one healthy prize pool for the $500 event. Playground Poker Classic $3,000 NLH Deepstack Winners!
Players started with 40,000 in chips and blinds were increasing every 60 minutes for the first day of the Playground Poker Classic $3,000 NLH Deepstrack main event. Turnout exceeded expectations yet again, with 75 entries in this 2 day bracelet event. All the players in the field played it out on the felts for the first-place prize of just under $75,000 and a shot at the coveted bracelet.

In the short while since Playground Poker Club has opened its doors, the Montreal poker club has surpassed expectations and established itself as a favourite poker destination in Canada. The inaugural Playground Poker Classic Tournament series has attracted many poker players as well as accomplished pros from the poker community, a testament to its growing success. The Playground Poker Classic is a series of 15 tournaments leading up to the signature $3,000 NLH Deepstack Event.
