Day 2B of the MILLIONS North America Main Event takes off at 12pm today, and will be the last chance for players to take part in this massive event boasting a $10,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. A total of 271 bags have been set on the tables from previous Day 1s, and late registration will remain open through the first 4 levels of play today. So far over 70 players have already bought-in directly to Day 2B, a number which is certain to grow until the close of registration. The biggest stack belongs to Michael Sklenicka, who closed his Day 1 flight with a cool 10,195,000 for the overall chip lead. Day 2A of the Main Event has now drawn over 465 entries, as the direct buy-ins and re-entries keep rolling in. Many players are taking advantage of the re-entry format to keep their tournament dreams alive; given the massive guarantee, it seems like the obvious decision. A modification to tonight’s Step 2 satellite will give a few more players the chance to get in on the action on Day 2B, as 15 seats will be added to the guarantee. Add that to Sit ‘N Go Satellites that will be running on demand all day, and at least 25 players will be moving on to take their shot at the MILLIONS tomorrow. Today at 12:00pm, the third of 5 starting flights in the MILLIONS North America Main Event. Today is when the numbers of participants should start to ramp up several notches as satellite qualifiers start to join the field in quantity. After today, there’s one “normal” Day 1 (Friday 12:00pm) plus a Turbo Day 1 with 40 minute blinds on Friday evening beginning at 8:00pm. Players may also choose to join the field on either of the Day 2s until the beginning of level 13 – so while there’s still plenty of opportunity to join the event – only today and tomorrow are “regular” starting days. Today at noon (12:00pm EDT) will see the restart of Event #1 in the MILLIONS North America, the $1,000 + $100 NL Hold’em MILLIONS Open. A grand total of 392 players will be taking their places at the tables at that time, every one of them vying to make it into the money of the tournament. The prize pool was released overnight, and just over 1/3 of the remaining players will achieve that goal – 143 places will pay in the tournament, with a min-cash of $2,700. The players will begin the day spread across 4 tables in the Tournament Hall, but as an 8-Max event, the field will balance down to 3 tables after just two eliminations. Later on the agenda will be a full redraw at 16 players remaining, and again when the final table is put together with 9 players remaining. Today at 12:00pm will mark the beginning of the 2nd of two Day 1 starting flights in Event #1, the MILLIONS Open. Day 1A was a huge success with over 580 entries having taken a seat in the tournament, and there’s no reason to believe that today’s flight should be any smaller – in fact, if history is any guide, today’s flight will be at least that size – if not larger!
