After a lengthy period of hand-for-hand play, the remaining players in the Deepstack Re-entry have just made the money.
Following the last update, the field was quickly reduced to 20 players. This moment meant the beginning of hand-for-hand play that saw several short stacks double up in the process. In every case, the players were at risk following pre-flop all ins, as the shallow stacks made it difficult for most players in the field to see flops.
In the end, it came down to a battle of the blinds between Manfred Gunther and his (former) neighbour Philippe Mangiacotti. Gunther, who controls the largest stack in play, moved all in from his small blind after the action folded to him. Mangiacotti was low on chips and decided to take his chances to double up. Unfortunately for Mangiacotti, he only had one live card and did not connect with the board so Gunther’s ace-high was good enough to win at showdown and take down the pot.
