The $515 + $50 turbo re-entry satellite to the MILLIONS Main event, originally scheduled for 1:00pm, has been pushed back to 3:00pm.
Featuring a 10-seat guarantee, this satellite will keep the same turbo re-entry format, providing players with a 100,000 chip starting stack (including the add-on) to play through as many 15-minute levels as it takes to narrow the field down to the Main Event qualifiers. This is a re-entry satellite with unlimited re-entries permitted during the late registration period up until the beginning of the ninth level of play at 5:15pm.

The final starting flight of Event #2 of the MILLIONS North America, the $1,000 + $100 Montreal Open, is about to begin. The Montreal Open has been tremendously popular with players, having already attracted 1,315 entries through the first six starting flights and nearly 400 players have qualified for Day 2. Day 1G, the turbo flight, is the last chance to qualify for Day 2. It will put the players through 16 shortened levels of play before Day 2 begins this afternoon at 3:30pm. As with all other starting flights, late registration and unlimited re-entries will be available until the beginning of the ninth level of play, so players have until 12:15pm to take part. The 15-minute blind levels are sure to lead to lots of fast action throughout this flight, and the re-entries will add up quickly in the last dash to Day 2.

The MILLIONS North America offers lots of way to qualify for the Main Event, and the first direct satellite of the series was held tonight.
Tonight’s satellite guaranteed 10 seats for the Main Event, which starts on Tuesday, May 21 with Day 1A at 12:00pm, followed by Day 1B on Wednesday, May 22 at 12:00pm. The Main Event follows a next-day re-entry format, which means that each player is only allowed two bullets, and not on the same flight.
In tonight’s satellite, it took no less than 27 levels of grueling action to reduce the 121 entries down to 12 players. In the end, with blinds at 50K / 100K, and the average stack at 10 bb’s, the players made a deal that allowed both Fernand Gaudreault and Nick Nickoletopoulos to receive a cash prize. This allowed the ten remaining players to secure one of the precious MILLIONS Main Event tickets up for grabs.

The chips are in the bag for flight Day 1F of Event #2: $1,000 + $100 Montreal Open. A total of 255 entries were logged in tonight’s flight, including 29 re-entries. In the end, 78 players got to drop chips in their bag, thus securing a seat for Day 2.
In brief, the action was fast paced, intense and steady. A lot of players went on a roller coaster ride but in the end managed to survive and were seen leaving the tournament hall with a smile on their faces. The happiest player is definitely Mario Dardis who managed to bag an impressive 11,790,000 chips. This performance places him in 2nd place overall, behind David Bolduc Hamel who bagged 13,865,000 on Day 1D. The second highest bagger tonight is Cheathta Ros, who had a steady run tonight and dropped 7,860,000 chips in his own bag.

The qualifying players will return Monday May 20, at 3:30pm when play resumes for 12 levels of 40 minutes. Day 1G, the last flight of Day 1’s for the Montreal Open gets underway Monday, May 20th at 10:00am. Blinds will go up every 15 minutes for this turbo flight.
Day 1 of Event #3, the $25000 + $300 Super High Roller, has just wrapped up. This is a two day event, with late registration open until the start of level 13 on Day 2, at 4:15pm.
There were only a total of six entries today in Day 1, including one re-entry (Andrew Pantling). After losing Marc Macdonnell early on in the evening, and then Niall Farrell later on, all three remaining players bagged for Day 2. Andrew Pantling re-entered early in the evening and it proved to be a good investment, at least so far, as he bagged the largest stack of the three players.
Niall Farrell had an evening of “run bad” as he was coolered twice, the first time after having flopped a Broadway straight and then losing to Pantling’s boat on the river, and then later on losing with QQ after Philipp Gruissem had 4-bet shoved with 88, only to have the board run out a straight for the pocket 8’s. Niall may be re-entering the tournament tomorrow, as his options are still open.
As many of the pros who play high rollers and super high rollers have only arrived in Montreal this afternoon or evening, we expect to see another 20-30 entries (and some re-entries) take place tomorrow on Day 2. It should be a great day of poker! Blind levels will play on the eight handed tables for 45 minutes, and then move to 30 minutes once heads up play begins, and then play out until a champion is crowned.
Talking to Gruissem at the end of the flight, we asked about the dynamic of playing a super high roller three handed for most of the night, and he replied “it’s actually tough as it becomes quite tiring since the action is non-stop, putting you into the blinds every minute or two. It was even hard to eat supper while playing since you were almost always in a hand”. That will surely change on Day 2, which promises to be an action filled day of tournament poker, featuring some of the best players from around the globe.

Day 1E of the Montreal Open proved to be the most popular Day 1 yet. There were nearly 200 players ready and waiting for the opening announcement at the start of the flight, and a steady stream of new joiners brought the total for the day up to 336 entries.
The chip lead changed hands many times this afternoon, as no player was able to maintain the momentum that took them to the top of the leaderboard for very long. By the time the chips were bagged after 16 levels of play, only one person, Vadim Rozin, was able to surpass the 10 million threshold. But more than a dozen players managed to advance stacks of 5 million or more, providing plenty of Day 2 ammunition. The final starting flight for this event, Day 1G, the turbo flight, will be held tomorrow morning at 10:00am and play through 16 abbreviated levels so the qualifiers can start Day 2 on time.

Tonight at 8:00pm is the first direct satellite of the MILLIONS North America to the $10,000 + $300 Main Event. This festival’s Main Event starts on Tuesday, May 21 at 12:00pm and has only two starting flights but offers an amazing $5,000,000 prize pool guarantee.

Event #3 of the MILLIONS North America, the $25,000 + $300 Super High Roller, is just getting ready to start. Registration is underway right now, and players are expected to slowly trickle into the room as the night goes on. There are currently three players in their seats; Andrew Pantling, Niall Farrell, and Marc Macdonnell. The tournament director has put a 30 minute delay on the start of the tournament as since it plays out eight handed, there must be at least four players before the cards will be in the air.
This prestigious two-day event will start players with 1,000,000 in tournament chips for eight 40-minute levels of eight-handed play on Day 1. Day 2 begins Monday, May 20 at 1:00pm and will play until there is a winner. Blind levels will increase to 45 minutes on Day 2, until heads-up play begins, when they will be reduced to 30 minutes.
This is a re-entry event with unlimited re-entries permitted until the end of the late registration period at the beginning of level 13 on Day 2.
Event #2 of the MILLIONS North America, the $1,000 + $100 Montreal Open is on it’s last two Day 1 flights. In a few minutes, at 5:00pm, Day 1F gets under way. Only one other Day 1 flight is available after tonight, and that’s Day 1F, which is a turbo (blinds increase every 15 minutes) and is tomorrow at 10:00am.
The Montreal Open has a massive prize pool guarantee! There will be at least $1,000,000 in cash awarded, as well as $10,000 + $300 seats to the Main Event given to the top 15 finishers when Day 3 play concludes on May 21. With four starting flights already in the books, there have been 754 Day 1 entries, and 209 players have advanced stacks to Day 2. Players start each Day 1 with a stack of 1,000,000 in tournament chips and play 16 30-minute levels before bagging chips for Day 2. This is a re-entry event with unlimited re-entries permitted until the end of the late registration period at the beginning of level 9 on each Day 1. A player may play additional Day 1s even if he/she has survived a previous Day 1 with chips. Players who qualify for Day 2 more than once will resume play on Day 2 with their largest qualifying stack; all other qualifying stacks will be forfeited.
This event showed its popularity even before the first card was pitched, as the $150 + $15 turbo re-entry satellites for this event consistently surpassed their guarantees. The final satellite was held last night and more than doubled its 15-seat guarantee to put 33 more qualifiers into the Montreal Open. In all, 142 players qualified via satellite.
So get down to the tournament hall and get a piece of the action. Late registration is open until roughly 9:15pm.
