Day 1B of the $100 + $10 Playground 100 has come to a close after an exciting day. 101 entries have been narrowed down to the final 11 which will advance to Day 2, which will be held on Sunday, November 24, at 3:00pm.
Players made the most of the unlimited re-entry format and took every opportunity to run up their stacks in the early stages. Tyler Lee held a significant lead after the first break but fell behind to Stephane Boisvert after the second break. As the pressure mounted and more players were eliminated, Boisvert continued to lead at the third break with a stack of over triple the chip average.
The action kept up at a brisk pace throughout the afternoon. Once the field reached the money bubble, hand for hand play dragged things out for an additional level. There were several spots where players were all in and at risk, but in each case the short stack survived. Eventually the blinds caught up to the shorter stacks in play and forced the action. The final hand of play was a pre-flop all in where the larger stack was fortunate enough to flop the nuts and bring about the end of this flight.
In the later stages of play, Boisvert seemed to lose momentum and Tyler Lee took advantage. Lee took the top spot once again ending the day with a total of 358,500 in chips. Boisvert came in at a close second with 350,500 in chips.
Congratulations to all players that have advanced to Day 2 and good luck on Sunday!
