Day 1D of the $200 + $20 Grand Prix Canada garnered a total of 89 entries, including 22 re-entries. The final 13 players have made it in the money to qualify for Day 2 which will be held on Sunday, December 15 at 1:00pm.

Play throughout the first few levels was steady, with no big blowouts but the lead changed as time progressed. As the blinds increased, the players with smaller stacks had no choice but to take their chances in hopes of doubling up. The bubble was burst by today’s leader Tomas Larivee Magni, after he called an opponent’s all in and won with a pair of kings.

The field is shrinking as only 18 players remain after the third break. Olivier Lamarre is still sitting in a great spot with a stack of 53 big blinds but he no longer leads. Tomas Larivee Magni won a few huge hands to pull ahead with 1,530,000 in chips.

Players are now feeling the tension as they are only five spots away from being in the money and qualifying for Day 2.

The field is down to three tables with 26 players still seated. Play has slowed as everyone is vying for a spot in the final 13 to qualify for Day 2.

Play is back in full swing after the second break of the night. Once late registration was closed it was determined that of the 89 total entries, the top 13 will be in the money and qualify for Day 2.

Olivier Lamarre has moved from fourth to first with a stack quadrupling the chip average. Norman Messier is hot on his heels in second with 590,000 in chips.

The chips are flying! The first ten levels saw many players taking big chances in hopes of building their stacks. A lot of smiles and banter were being exchanged but now that the re-entry period has closed, the mood is a little more intense. 48 remain from a total of 89 entries.

Play has resumed after the first break into level six. There have been 64 entries thus far with 50 players still seated. Tu Kham Tran is the current leader with an impressive stack of 140 big blinds. Danny Rouleau is close behind in second with just 5000 chips less.

The late registration period will be open until 10:50pm at the beginning of level 11.

Welcome to Day 1D of the $200 + $20 Grand Prix Canada Turbo Flight. Players are competing for a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000! Participants will start with 100,000 in chips and play 10-handed. Because this is the turbo flight, blinds will increase every 20-minutes . Play will proceed until the number of remaining players has been reduced to 1 in 7 entries, at which point the money will be reached.

This is a re-entry event with unlimited re-entries permitted until the end of the late registration period at the beginning of level 11. Re-entry is permitted for any player that loses all their chips or chooses to forfeit their stack. Players who qualify for Day 2 more than once will resume play on Day 2 with their largest qualifying stack.
