Day 1D of the $200 + $20 Grand Prix Canada garnered a total of 89 entries, including 22 re-entries. The final 13 players have made it in the money to qualify for Day 2 which will be held on Sunday, December 15 at 1:00pm.
Play throughout the first few levels was steady, with no big blowouts but the lead changed as time progressed. As the blinds increased, the players with smaller stacks had no choice but to take their chances in hopes of doubling up. The bubble was burst by today’s leader Tomas Larivee Magni, after he called an opponent’s all in and won with a pair of kings.
Here are the top stacks from Day 1D:
- Tomas Larivee Magni – 1,585,000
- Olivier Lamarre – 1,103,000
- Line St-Pierre – 992,000
- Karim Abdelhamid – 876,000
- Thibaut Nouveau – 796,000
Congratulations and good luck to all 13 players moving onto Day 2.
