    Vezina bags 717,000 chips to lead 66 qualifiers into Day 2

    Day 1C of the $1000 + $10 Playground 1000 has wrapped up the starting flights for this exciting event. Today’s flight attracted 174 entries, including 32 re-entries, bringing the total to 464 entries over the last three days. The 464 entries swelled the prize pool to $450,080 with the top prize reaching $89,750. Click here for a look at the full prize pool.

    Sebastien Vezina took a commanding lead of the field after the second break and he was able to maintain the top spot going into Day 2 with a stack of 717,000. Vezina is fresh off his win in Event #17, the Big Bounty Re-entry tournament, let’s see if he can keep the momentum rolling into tomorrow. Michele Pengue played the majority of the day relatively unnoticed but he was able to win some huge pots in the last few levels to come in just behind Vezina with 716,000. Benjamin Mathieu-Comtois rounds out the top three with a comfortable stack of 692,000.

    66 players from Day 1C will continue to Day 2 tomorrow along with the qualifying players from Day 1A and 1B. Find the Day 2 seating chart and results here.

    96 players have returned to level 10 indicating the end of the late registration and re-entry period. The total entries were able to reach 174, including 34 re-entries, to round out the last day of starting flights for the Playground 1000. The prize pool will be announced shortly.

    Sebastien Vezina has maintained his lead after building a huge stack worth 574,000 chips. Vezina’s stack is good for 229 big blinds and is more than triple the chip average of 181,250.

    The end of the late registration period is quickly coming to an end as level 10 approaches. Players have just one hour more to register or re-enter, if they’d like a chance to win a piece of the $400,000 guaranteed prize pool.

    So far there have been a total of 166 entries, putting 16,600,000 chips in play in eight levels. Remaining competitors have to survive four more 45-minute levels if they want to advance to Day 2.

    Day 1C of the $1000 + $100 Playground 1000, began minutes ago at 11:00am. This is the last starting flight and last chance for players to get a piece of the $400,000 guaranteed prize pool. Click here for a look who’s already qualified and their results.

    Competitors begin with a starting stack of 100,000 chips and play 10-handed through 45-minute blinds. All Day 1 flights play 12 levels and those remaining at the end will advance to Day 2 tomorrow, February 3, at 12:00pm.

    This is a single re-entry event with one entry and only one re-entry permitted until the end of the late registration period at the beginning of level 10. Re-entry is permitted for any player that loses all their chips or chooses to forfeit their stack. Competitors may enter additional Day 1s even if they have survived a previous Day 1 with chips. Players who qualify for Day 2 more than once will resume play with their largest qualifying stack; all other stacks will be forfeited.

    Day 2 will also play 12 levels and Day 3 plays until there is a winner.
