The field is starting to thin out as there are only 49 players left in the running. The word in the air tonight is “all in” as players are working hard to knock each other out and grab their opponents $500 bounty chip along the way.

There will be a break coming up soon which will allow us to put together a new leaderboard.

The late registration and re-entry period have now come to a close and there are 137 total entries (including 26 re-entries). This great turnout has almost tripled the guaranteed prize pool!

With the average stack at 38,000 chips, local hero Tu Kham Tran is in the pole position, leading the field with almost three times the average stack. He currently is playing a stack of 112,900 chips, about 141 big blinds. With 90 players still in contention, there is a whole lot of poker left to be played before the final table showdown.

The bounty chips are flying!

On Table 31, Travis Robertson limped in for 200 in early position and was met by a raise to 1,200 from Daniel Periard followed by a call from Michele Pengue. When it was Daniel Plourde’s turn to act in the small blind, he three-bet to 3,200. Robertson got out of the way and Periard and Pengue both made the call.

The flop came and Plourde continued out for 3,600, followed by a call from Periard. With action on Michele Pengue, he threw in his bounty chip to signal that he was all in. Plourde also went all in and after some tanking, Periard folded.

Plourde had the over-pair but of course Pengue had flopped a set of tens. The turn didn’t help out Plolurde and the river gave Pengue a boat.

Pengue had Plourde covered and he picked up his second $500 bounty chip of the night as well as a ton of chips!

There are now 87 total entries and the first re-entry has also taken place. With still more than 90 minutes left in the late registration period, it appears that the $30,000 guaranteed prize pool will be more than doubled!

Tonight is the event that the action players have been waiting for. Event #17 of the 2020 World Cup of Cards is the $100 + $60 + $500 Big Bounty Re-entry tournament. The format puts $100 of the buyin towards the total prize pool plus a $500 bounty on the head of every player that can be knocked out of action.

Players start with 25,000 chips and play 10-handed through 20-minute levels. There is a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool which is made up of the prize pool plus the bounties, and with already 55 players seated at the tournament start, the prize pool will grow much larger than that. And just in case things don’t go the right way during an all in moment, unlimited re-entries are available right up until the end of the late registration period at the start of level seven at 9:15pm.
