The final starting flight for the Playground 100, Day 1E Turbo, has just wrapped up, sending the final 13 qualifiers into Day 2 and the money.
Day 1E was an action-packed affair, from beginning to end. The turbo format ensured that this flight would be faster than the rest, something that the players were well aware of, which set this flight off at a breakneck pace. The result was 33 re-entries before level 7 began and lots of extra chips in play for the remaining players. Several players ran up their stacks in the early stages, but the accelerated structure led to the chip lead changing hands many times throughout the afternoon.
In the end, it took 19 levels of play to reduce the field to the final 13. When play concluded, Jean-Pascal Gauthier was the chip leader from this flight, with 356,500 in chips for Day 2. The Playground 100 took in a total of 756 entries, and 77 players advanced to Day 2. To see the combined Day 1 results, click here.
