Many poker players are familiar with the old adage that it can be hard to make a hand in hold’em. But the players in the 6-Max Re-entry don’t seem to be having that issue, as monsters are being flipped over on nearly every hand.

Everyone knows that some variance comes with the territory, but this afternoon’s action has already produced some significant outliers. The most incredible example happened moments ago when two players each made quad queens on adjacent tables at the same time! Also, the players holding the queens were able to extract maximum value from their opponents in those spots, allowing each of them to more than double their stacks.

The 6-Max Re-entry has already surpassed its prize pool guarantee, thanks to a robust early turnout. There has been a total of 74 entries so far, a figure which was helped along by 12 re-entries up to this point. Although this event guaranteed a prize pool of at least $5,000, it may award nearly double that amount, as new players and re-entries keep rolling in by the minute.

The short-handed format helped the action pick up speed from the first orbit, as big, multi-way pots became the early norm. Expect that trend to continue, at least until the end of the late registration and re-entry period at 2:15pm.

Here is a look at the action from the early stages of play:

The World Cup of Cards rolls on this afternoon with Event #4, the $100 + $10 6-Max Re-entry. The action will be fast and the seating will be spacious for this single-day event with a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Players will start with 20,000 in chips to play through as many 20-minute levels as needed to determine a winner. The 6-Max Re-entry is a re-entry event with unlimited re-entries permitted during the late registration period, which will end at the beginning of level 7 at 2:15pm.
