The $300 + $30 Roll the Dice 8-Max Re-entry, has come to a close after 18 levels of play. Event #20 of the 2020 World Cup of Cards attracted a total of 45 entries to push the $10,000 prize pool guarantee to $13,095.
Three players, Ben Menache, Kosta Papa, and Viken Artinian, rotated around the leaderboard throughout the night, always maintaining the chip leads. Play was fast and furious once the late registration period closed, which quickly narrowed the field to the final table.
After the final four players agreed to an ICM deal, Nicolas Lareau-Lessard was the first to go in fourth place for $2,170. Former chip leader, Ben Menache, was eliminated next in third for $2,200. This left Kosta Papa and Dean Pitcher to battle it out for the top spot.
The final hand was initiated by Pitcher who shoved all-in for a game of Pot Limit Omaha. Unfortunately for Pitcher his pocket twos were just short of Papa’s pocket fours, to send him home in second for $3,155. Papa won the hand, the trophy, and an additional $500 bringing his total to $3,650. Congratulations!
