The play had been hand-for-hand for quite some time, but the bubble has finally burst.
With the blinds at 3,000/6,000, Brigitte Korak opened the action with a raise to 15,000. Annie Beaulieu, seated on Korak’s immediate left, bumped it up to 30,000. When it folded to Helene Corcoran in the small blind, she instantly moved her stack forward as she announced that she was all in. Korak shook her head as she looked at both of her opponents before finally mucking her hand. Beaulieu made the call.

Corcoran was in the lead, and Beaulieu wasn’t thrilled to see that. She looked at the dealer and politely repeated “ten, ten, ten, ten….” The dealer fanned out
on the flop and Beaulieu continued saying “ten, ten, ten.” The turn was the
, which gave Beaulieu lots of new outs. When the river fell the
, Beaulieu started to get up to leave, thinking that she had lost the hand, but the river card had saved her! Korak looked at her and said “you have the ten of spades, you made a flush!”
Corcoran had played very well today and was always in contention, but the unfortunate river on her final hand led to her elimination in twelfth place, one shy of the money.
