Day 1 of the $2,000 + $200 High Roller has just wrapped up and when it was all said and done, there were a total of 108 entries (including 25 re-entries) of which 59 players have found a bag for Day 2. The tournament offers the players a starting stack of 100,000 chips and they have been playing 9-handed through 45 minute blind levels. Late registration (and re-entry) is still available up until the start of level 13 on Day 2.

There is a guaranteed $250,000 prize pool and with many players choosing to enter on Day 2, the prize pool may even surpass the guarantee.

The chip average at the end of play tonight was 183,000, and the player who bagged the largest stack is none other than Playground regular Tu Kham Tran who is in the lead with 436,900 chips. Here are the five largest stacks moving into Day 2:

    August 31, 2019August 31, 2019 | 10:11pm | Playground

Arriving at table 63, three players had their money in the middle pre-flop. The cards were opened:

John Pentefountas: Ace of Diamonds King of Diamonds
Jamie Sequeira: Queen of Spades Jack of Spades
Meyenehi Iduwe: 10 of Spades 10 of Diamonds

Iduwe had a made hand, Pentefountas had nice over cards with the big slick, and Sequeira had total confidence and he let his table mates know that he will be winning the hand.

The flop came 3 of Hearts 2 of Hearts 6 of Hearts and Iduwe stayed in front. The turn was the 8 of Clubs and nothing changed. The river however changed it all when the Queen of Diamonds came out, making a pair of queens for Sequeira.

Both Sequeira and Iduwe had lost chips earlier on but Sequeira did have him covered, sending Iduwe to the rail. Sequeira also picked up another 63,000 chips from Pentefountas which puts him right back into the game and in decent shape.

Jamie Sequeira is a colourful and fun guy who ended up placing third earlier this week in the $5000 + $300 Super High Roller so hopefully we will have so more posts with him later on when he is in a big hand.
